Animal abuse--the slashed cats in AMK, Yogi dragged down 20 flights of stairs for *barking*, the same owner abusing his other dog, Brownie, too... and he only got 20 months of jail! We ought to take this more seriously.

By signing this petition, you will be supporting all the animals being abused, and killed, like Orni, who was a stray loved my everyone. That is, until Orni was found covered in blood with a stab wound near its mouth. Orni died in pain, just before the vet was going to give Orni a sedative. What's most angering and saddening is the culprit hasn't even been caught!

Once we reach our goal, I'll be emailing The director of Animal Veterinary Service (AVS), Dr YAP Him Hoo at yap_him_hoo@nparks.gov.sg, to inform him about us wanting to extend the time and intensity of the punishments animal abusers have to endure, and that we want harsher punishments for reoffenders.  (Anyone found abusing an animal can get fined up to $15 000, and/or imprisonment for up to 18 months. If the offender reoffends, they may get fined up to $30 000 and/or imprisonment for up to 3 years.) I think the punishments should be harsher. Anyone found abusing an animal should be fined up to $20 000, and imprisonment for up to 24 months, which is 2 years. If the offender reoffends, they should be fined for up to 50 000 and imprisonment for up to 5 years. If any animal abuser causes the death of any animal, they should also never be allowed to keep a pet. If you feel these measures are appropriate, *please* vote.
