Tender update

Hi all,

we have had news that the tender will begin in October. Thank you for your support and if you haven't already please email your local Councillors as well as Councillor Grainger and Councillor Bartlett if you would like to see VP Tennis continue for the next 5 years.

We have had difficulties due to the courts and the Commonwealth Games and now the delay to the resurface. We have previously offered £20000 towards more courts and also asked for the resurface to be done in a different way so the club wouldn't be impacted so much. We have tried to change the way we have operated along the way over the last ten years as we agreed the current licence wasn't fit for purpose. However, all of our suggestions have been denied. 

Had I known in 2012 that the only way to change the agreement was to go to tender I would never have taken this club on from zero members. I had all the risk then but took it on because I thought that if I was successful, then we would have the facility upgrades needed and could go from strength to strength. I hope that is still the case despite this tender challenge.
