Letter from Matt Western

Hi all,

please see the photo of my letter from Matt Western. Thank you to everyone who has written to him and to Councillors.

My argument is still that this support is what the consultation and appraisal highlighted in 2021. Why were we then placed in a tender four years before my licence ends. Given the four years of reduced safe courts and compromises made by VP Tennis it is unfair to include us in the tender.

We are asking that we are excluded or that the tender is in 2026. The Abbey Fields refurb has been delayed by 7 months so by then those courts will be ready to be included too.

We hope that this week we will have sufficient support from Councillors who have now had more time to go through the report and the history of the last four years and agree that the timing of this tender is not fair on top of currently having no access to the courts and still not having a resurfacing plan.
