Everyone Active 3 of a possible 96 bookings...

A Councillor investigated how busy St Nics/Everyone Active was over over Wimbledon Finals 2022 weekend. They only had 3 of a possible 96 bookings...

This is disappointing given in 2018 we were told those courts would be resurfaced first due to "greater participation levels". At the time we had 10 teams, a full time coaching programme, mix ins, pay and play and free play. We were very surprised to hear this and asked to see the stats. WDC have never provided these stats unfortunately. There is a history of decisions made based on reports that are economical with the facts.

In 2012 to 2018 I ran many free Open Days, free tournaments, free school sessions and discounted coaching. This was all on the basis that if I created and then maintained a full time coaching programme WDC would provide the 10 all weather courts. I'm now wondering why I worked so hard to do this.

In the December cabinet meeting Councillor Grainger commented that it would be cheaper to just grass over the courts. Given the LTA are paying to resurface them and we had and still are offering a sinking fund for maintenance this is a very disappointing attitude that goes against the hard work of the coaches and members at this thriving club.
