I would like CAN staff to actually help producers

I think it is a shame that this petition has really become more of a joke, it has at least become a place to vent when we need to. I was told 2 producers were approached by Managers after venting on here and removed their complains. I made an appointment to check out equipment and was kept waiting by a staff person who was on the computer. when I was finally brought out my equipment I was told there was no card for me to check the camera with. I got a card from someone and then was told I had to go because the next person was there to check out. This was not the first time I was not given the opportunity to check my equipment and when I was out on my shoot, the setting where wrong, or the equipment, camera, tripod, sound mixer didn't work. This equipment should be tested before I even get it and the settings should already be set. I have had to lose parts of my field footage because I had to google what and how to get the camera to the setting I was trained and know how to use. I have spoken to other producers who have had the same issues, but are afraid to complain. The feel that when they complain, staff has actually sabotaged the equipment they were given there on there next check out. I personally have not felt sabotage but I do feel like no one at CAN cares how my shoot goes or if the equipment works or not. Sadly that is what staff is there for, I could buy a camera and google how to use it but CAN staffers are suppose to be there to be there to train and support and I do not feel supported. I know that there are some Producers making large donations to CAN and maybe they are getting the help they need but my membership is suppose to assure me support and help to produce good shows. This is not fair and there is no one and no place to go to, to complain, or make changes, or get what we pay for. We either do the best we can, and turn in poorly produced shows or have no show at all.
