On June 4th, 2020, a horrific series of events led to the untimely passing of Fitz Alexander Campbell Thomas. Fitz passed away in a drowning incident at the mouth of the Potomac River in Goose Creek. After numerous calls to EMS services, paramedics took over half an hour to arrive on the scene which largely contributed to the inability to save Fitz's life. Before he passed, Fitz began to invest himself in advocacy and social justice while being known as a source of love to all. In wake of his passing and to honor his purpose, the family and I launched an initiative by the name of Justice 4 Fitz. One of the main intentions behind Justice 4 Fitz is to carry out the tasks on the Fitz-It List, which is a list of opportunities to create positive change in the community of Loudoun. These opportunities cover topics such as public safety, the updating of EMS services, education reform, and community initiatives. This petition has been created in order to build a support system to ensure the carrying out of the Fitz-It List, as there is strength in numbers.
