Last night on 4/28/2026, after considering all of the input from our community,   the Northside ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously not to move forward with the renaming or beloved school.  They chose to honor our 60+ year old history and our legacy of greatness by keeping our schools name.

I would like to thank everyone who spoke up, signed the petition, emailed the board, and spoke at the meetings and the NISD Board of Trustees for listening to the wishes of our community. You all made a difference.
