July 5, 2016 Dear Friends, The "Crossing Borders" Conference takes place this week, July 7 - 10 . Partly due to the public outcry including this petition, Tim Anderson has been re-invited to speak at the Conference. SSUK ("Syria Solidarity UK") has again issued threats against Anderson speaking at the conference. They claim to promote "democracy" in Syria but cannot tolerate alternative voices and are still trying to prevent Anderson's facts and analysis from being heard. Anderson addresses the root cause of the refugee crisis, including foreign aggression using mercenaries and fanatics. The horrific bloodshed of the past week underscores the need to discuss and analyze the causes and consequences of an ideology based on sectarianism and violence which leads to refugees. We trust the organizers of the conference will arrange an appropriate venue and security for Anderson's important message to be heard.
