On August 16th, a vote was called on the Duluth City Council Resolution 21-0618, in support of reevaluating the city’s downtown I-35 corridor. It passed unanimously.
A huge thank you goes to all who've contributed ideas, concepts, dreams, desires, demands, and all the other things that made this idea so compelling. Another huge thank you goes to everyone who's shared this idea, our petition, our website, retweeted us, and got eyes on this.
And a final huge thank you to Councilor Forsman for stepping up to introduce this resolution, Councilors Filipovich, Randorf, and Anderson for co-sponsoring, and the rest of the council for voting yes. You’ve given this idea the opportunity to grow into something even better.
As was said during the council meeting, this is only the top of the first inning. There will no doubt be challenges ahead, but we just started the game with a home run. Thanks to everyone who made this possible.
