Save Delilah's Pets

Save Delilah's Pets
The Issue
Instead of converting the stores to shelters, we propose that we, Delilah's, work with the shelters to help as many animals as possible find their forever home. We want to also maintain a business that has been loving and caring for animals for over 30 years, not as a chain, but a privately owned facility that has an outstanding record for clean, happy, and healthy animals. Delilah's has expert caregivers who don't look to turn a quick profit, but look for the right home for each animal, first by educating you on the breed, and unlike most stores, provides the information on where each baby has come from. The ordinance wants to promise a quick solution to over crowded shelters all across Indiana, but has been targeted at our own Bloomington first, only having two shelters, to use as an example due to the controversy of "Puppy Mills".
Delilah's personally visits each breeder before deciding to do business, trying to the best of their ability to only adopt from families that show, care, and respect for the animals in their care and the breeding process. We encourage anyone who has questions or concerns about how the business is run, the origin of each puppy, the products we sell, or even just anyone who has skepticism of pet shops to please stop by, we are more than happy to put any worries to rest. You can stop by between 9am - 6pm Tuesday-Saturday at our new location 2506 W. Third St. Bloomington, IN 47404 or at our old store (which is currently being moved to the new store) from 9am-6pm Monday - Saturday which is located at 650 N. College Ave Bloomington, IN 47404.
We just want to educate people that not all pet stores are out to just make money, but instead provide an option to those who don't have the means to adopt or rescue. At the same time, we understand and care about the work the shelters do, so we want to work with them, instead of feeling like there is a wall between us, we all just want to help animals and help them find their forever homes. Thank you so much for taking the time to see our concerns, and we hope to see you all soon.
