In addition to the recall petition against Gov. Pritzker, we have filed a 90-page lawsuit against Gov. Pritzker and Mayor Lightfoot for violations of constitutional law that have DESTROYED Illinois business, injured people's health, and torn our state apart. This lawsuit has the best chance of stopping Gov. Pritzker's discriminatory Coronavirus restrictions.
As you know, Gov. Pritzker placed terrible new restrictions on restaurants and businesses this week and Mayor Lightfoot shut down 6 restaurants in Chicago alone. The cold weather months are soon approaching and Pritzker and Lightfoot do not seem to care how many businesses go under, how many people go bankrupt and how many people lose their jobs and their health.
We can defeat them in court - the law is on our side but we NEED YOUR HELP to do this. If we succeed and get a declaratory judgment on the merits of the case, EVERY business and individual in Chicago and Illinois will be able to FILE A CLAIM for ACTUAL DAMAGES and COURT FEES.
Gov. Pritzker and Mayor Lightfoot have big legal teams to support them but we do not. Right now, our legal defense fund is tapped out. But Gov. Pritzker and Lightfoot - they have all the power and financial resources at their disposal and they are working around the clock to defeat this lawsuit. WE CANNOT LET THEM WIN.
