NOT AGAIN: Pritzker, Lightfoot Plan to Move Illinois Back to Phase 3
Just when you thought Illinois and Chicago were recovering from the illegal Coronavirus shutdown of Illinois, now there is word Governor Pritzker and Mayor Lightfoot are plotting against residents and businesses once again.
Despite a legal victory for Illinois citizens from Judge McHaney in Clay County court two weeks ago, Gov. Pritzker and Mayor Lightfoot are digging in their heels and defying that court order. Yesterday, Pritzker announced he was now dividing Illinois into 11 new separate health regions and giving Chicago its own region to deal with Coronavirus spikes. Both Pritzker and Lightfoot are now threatening to rollback Illinois and Chicago back to Phase 3 - or worse! Tuesday, Lightfoot warned that Chicago was on the "precipice" of returning to tougher COVID-19 restrictions. If Pritzker and Lightfoot succeed in rolling back Illinois to Phase 3 or Phase 2, they will destroy more lives and more businesses.
Just last week, I visited with a small family business owner in Springfield who has lost more than $200,000 in revenue. He is considering closing for good. If Pritzker and Lightfoot succeed in REIMPOSING their illegal restrictions, he will not be alone in closing.
This is far from over. We cannot let them do this again. We must keep fighting. They've gotten a taste of power and they want to keep it. We cannot allow their illegal actions to succeed! We have filed a lawsuit against Gov. Pritzker and Mayor Lightfoot opposing their illegal actions. If we succeed, businesses and residents will be able to sue Pritzker and Lightfoot for ACTUAL DAMAGES and LEGAL FEES and...win!
There are additional lawsuits being filed by us and by other counsel. We must work together in order to protect Illinois citizens from these power-hungry tyrants.
