The CALL to the Church Leadership in Canada from Christians in Palestine went out in June 2017 as the occupation went into its 50th year. Two years later--radio silence in Canada.
The National Coalition of Christian Organizations in Palestine issued an open letter to the World Council of Churches (WCC) in June 2017.
Over 2 years later, there has been NO response to this call within Canada.
Christians in Palestine said they need the ecumenical movement more than ever saying-- “We need brave women and men who are willing to stand in the forefront. This is no time for shallow diplomacy Christians.”
Unfortunately it would seem that shallow diplomacy is the norm among Canadian church leadership
In Canada, NO response has been provided by the ecumenical Christian leadership through either the Canadian Council of Churches, the members of the Council or others Christian communities.
