In August, Northampton's Community Preservation Committee (CPC) will decide the fate of St. John Cantius, as they vote on a request from O'Connell Development Group for $500,000 in CPA funding to restore the church's roof, windows, and masonry. O'Connell will convert the building into several multi-family rental units and place the Church under a perpetual historic preservation easement.  Without this funding, it is likely SJC will be demolished. If you have questions, please contact Deb Henson, Chair of the Friends of SJC at debhenson.law@gmail.com or 504-232-8884.
