I'd like to take a moment to say our prayers and thoughts are with George Floyd's family, friends and loved ones.

People, this tragedy has awakened a sleeping giant across our country. A country which is already on edge due to COVID19 and the financial burdens placed on her citizens, who are not being HEARD. 

WE NEED this relief - now. Possibly now more than ever. If Mr. Floyd's passing and the subsequent protests and violence that's ensued have shown us anything, it has shown that WE NEED CHANGE, NOW. So... be sure to vote in November! And, for now, DO NOT buy into the paid-for out of towner's (who are bussed in) violent rhetoric - REMAIN PEACEFUL. It is what his family is pleading for! You have a Right to speak out and protest - but violence and destruction, and the authorities subsequent actions protecting us from it, drown out your voices and won't allow you to be HEARD. 

Mr. Governor, everyone is stressed out to the max because of lack of money, lack of jobs, lack of unemployment, lack of stimulus funds (some of us are STILL waiting to receive it!), and some have even lost their livelihood and/or their homes. ALL are tired of being cooped up and not being able to go about their daily routine as they did pre-COVID19, and are TIRED of BEING IGNORED by OUR GOVERNMENT.  

Everyone: PLEASE...share this petition as much as you can on whichever social media venues you have access to. Even ONE share makes a difference! We have GOT to have SOME RELIEF! We have GOT to be SHOWN that those in NC Government DO care about our safety and well being. 

The pot was boiling, now - by waking the sleeping giant - it has spilled over the edge. All the COVID19 stress, anger, frustration, depression, and feelings of helplessness got the bump needed, to add to and push over the edge of the pot the anger, frustration, disgust, sadness and decades-old  feeling of enough is enough, after Mr. Floyd died.

The only way to turn the burner down and DE-stress is to relieve some of the financial burdens caused by the COVID19 crisis and subsequent protocols (stay home - if you still HAVE a home; cant work anymore, etc). Reopening NC WON'T ease the burden. 1 week wait (or maybe no wait) for 1st paycheck IF someone goes back to work, BUT..... they've massive back COVID19 debt to pay (power, phone, water, rent, mortgage, car payment etc.). Mr. Governor, that = NO $$ to spare, not even to rent a movie at Redbox in most cases!

WE NEED THIS RELIEF, ASAP, Governor Cooper. Please, HEAR us! Thank you. And thank you all for just being the wonderful people you are. Stay safe, and God bless.
