Friends and supporters,
We’ve now reached 660 supporters and 738 signatures on this petition. Every single one of you is helping to amplify the voices of caregivers who too often remain invisible in policy debates. Thank you for standing with us.
But our work is far from over. With ACA subsidies set to expire on December 31, 2025, families face the largest affordability crisis since the ACA was passed. Caregivers - already balancing full‑time jobs and full‑time care - will be hit first.
I’ve just published the latest edition of my Substack series, Our Lives On Hold, which dives into the subsidy cliff and the global case for treating care as infrastructure: 👉 Read and listen to the full dispatch here
I also encourage you to explore the work of our partner organizations:
- Professionals Who Care (PWC): advancing caregiver recognition and workforce protections.
- CASI (Caregiver Advocacy Support Initiative): which I founded and now serve as Director of Advocacy, building policy infrastructure for caregivers in Colorado and beyond.
📽️ Looking Ahead: We are planning a short documentary project to share this urgent message with an even wider audience. This film will bring caregiver stories to the forefront and show policymakers the human cost of inaction.
I cannot stress this enough: your voice is the most important part of making this happen. Every signature, every share, every story strengthens the case for caregivers as infrastructure.
👉 If you are interested in being part of the documentary project, please reach out to me directly. It will be your voices and mine together that makes this issue known publicly and more broadly.
📣 What you can do now:
- Continue sharing this petition with your networks - visibility matters.
- Subscribe to The Revenue Neutral Caregiver on Substack for weekly updates and the companion podcast.
- Follow PWC and CASI to stay connected with caregiver advocacy at both state and national levels.
Together, we are showing policymakers that caregivers are not expendable. We are infrastructure. And we will not be ignored.
Thank you for your continued support - let’s keep pushing.
Kindly and Gratefully,
Mark Fukae
