#lovewins Bermuda’s first gay marriage took place yesterday, the Supreme Court heard today. The wedding was referred to during a hearing before Puisne Judge Charles-Etta Simmons regarding her landmark May 5 ruling on same-sex marriage. The hearing is to determine the exact terms of the judge’s order declaring that gay marriage is legal. It was originally also set down as a costs hearing though that issue will now be dealt with at a later date. Mrs Justice Simmons asked counsel if a same-sex marriage had taken place in Bermuda yet. She was told by two lawyers at the hearing that the first marriage happened yesterday.
