Petition updateAUSTRALIAN KINSHIP CARERS NEED YOUR HELPVictorian Ombudsman investigates financial support for kinship carers

Sue ErbenFinley, Australia
Apr 3, 2017
"The Victorian Ombudsman has commenced an ‘own motion’ investigation into the financial support provided to kinship carers by the Department of Health and Human Services in Victoria.
Kinship carers assume care of children, who are in need of protection, in an out-of-home care (OOHC) setting. Kinship carers can be relatives or any other suitable person in a child’s social network.
Can I please ask everyone who has signed or shared this petition to write to the Ombudsman/Guardian in your state/territory and ask for an investigation to be carried out as is being done in Victoria. We must actively encourage change and this is an opportunity for us to have our voice heard. Thank you once again to each and every one who has supported this petition. Please continue to share.
