Before The Academy meets today (Saturday 14th October), I thought I'd give a short update. First, thank you to the over 130,000 people that have signed this petition, I'm truly in awe of your support! Rose McGowan, one of the first people to speak out against Weinstein, has also shown her support by sharing the petition on Twitter: http://twitter.com/rosemcgowan/status/918622636485124096 Thank you Rose for continuing to make a stand against Weinstein, your bravery is inspiring! Popular entertainment news websites Deadline and The Wrap also both covered the petition with articles on their websites, which can be found here: http://deadline.com/2017/10/harvey-weinstein-petition-to-remove-harvey-from-ampas-for-life-1202188079/ http://www.thewrap.com/change-org-petition-to-remove-harvey-weinstein-from-academy-passes-100000/ A digital copy of the petition has also been delivered to The Academy, with their CEO Dawn Hudson (pictured) officially confirming it had been received during a short phone call earlier. You can read more about this here: http://www.change.org/p/the-academy-of-motion-picture-arts-and-sciences-remove-harvey-weinstein-from-the-academy-of-motion-picture-arts-and-sciences/u/21683221 As soon as The Academy decides on Weinstein's membership, I will post another update giving the details.
