Earlier today, I contacted The Academy to formally request a conversation with their President John Bailey regarding this petition. I feel that it is important that I speak directly with Mr. Bailey to properly explain my reasons for starting this petition and the thoughts expressed by it’s many signatories. Although I respect The Academy’s decision to call the meeting on Saturday 14th October, I feel the Board of Governors decision will be a simpler one to make if they are willing to listen to as many voices as possible regarding Harvey Weinstein's behaviour. I am waiting for a reply from The Academy's publicity department and will update this petition as soon as I hear back.
