Subject : Petition – Requesting below problems to be solved and projects to be carried out, to mitigate yearly floods in and around Thazhambur.

1.     Ottiyambakkam  Canal  Bund 

Heighten and Strengthening of Bund Petition (TN_PWD_CPT_P_PORTAL_19JUL21_1350294)

2.  Thazhambur Rainwater Storm Drain Project

On OMR Road, near Numeric, the problem can be solved, by making Culvert or cutting OMR Road, to carry rainwater from Thazhambur to the other side of the Buckingham Canal.

3.  GTK wall Closure Ottiyambakkam Out Stream Problem

Make a 25 feet wide concrete channel in the GTK layout, with good depth to carry excess rain water from the causeway Karanai dam.

4.  Thazhambur Lake Opening to let overflow stored water

Thazhambur Lake is now overflowing with rain water.

It should be channelized through the pipes and channels, to prevent damage to people’s property and personnel.

5.  Thazhambur-Semmencheri Canal Problem

The existing earthen canal should be widened

Please get Clearance and Approval of any departments including the Highways department.

The above will solve rain storm water problems of Thazhambur, Ottiyambakkam, DLF, Military Quarters, ETA, Tsunami Colony and Housing Board people.
