TFL - Introduce Affordable Summer Passes for Native London Residents
The Issue
I live in London from three years, a city cherished by many for its iconic sites and multicultural cuisine, a city I proudly call home. However, my enjoyment of these charms is constantly shadowed by the heavy burden of prohibitive Transport for London (TFL) charges. Their costly prices have been discouraging my visits to favourite spots and notably affecting my gastronomic explorations as a self-proclaimed foodie.
Like many other native London residents, I believe in maximizing our use of public transportation not just for the environment, but also to invigorate the local businesses we frequent, potentially creating more and more jobs. Regrettably, our call for affordable TFL passes seems to fall on deaf ears, especially during summer when the city is abloom with vibrant activities.
An affordable summer pass for native London residents would not only make the city more accessible for all of us, but also bolster the local economy. This change isn't just about easing the cost of living or nurturing my passion for food, it's about giving back to the city that we love and support.
The Office of National Statistics (ONS) reports that in 2019, Londoners took an average of 3.5 trips per day, a figure that could increase if public transportation was more affordable. Let's use this opportunity to show our leaders the need for fairer TFL pricing.
Please join this petition to call on the TFL and our local leaders to introduce a reasonably priced summer pass for native Londoners. Your signatures can make a citywide difference. Let's make London more liveable and loveable for all of us. Please sign this petition and spread the word.
We all know, how expensive it's and people started thinking to stay home and that where local businesses slowed down.
