“By the end of Tuesday, residents in at least four of the state's five biggest cities — Dallas, San Antonio, Austin and Fort Worth — are expected to be under such orders. The only possible holdout is Houston, the state's most populous city,” says the Texas Tribune. Houston started drafting their order over the weekend and are expected to follow suit. Gov. Abbott is abdicating decisions to local jurisdictions and at least they are finally acting.

Thank you all for sharing this petition, for spreading the word, and for making a difference during this unprecedented time. Lives have been saved because of the actions from this group.

Now, the real fight begins, as we expect the number of cases to rise dramatically over the next few days. Please continue to be active in supporting your employees and our community. We need everyone to come together and in order to beat this thing. The actions of each of us can continue to make an impact in the lives of others. With orders for all the major counties imminent, I am closing this petition and declaring a small victory. Now it’s time to gear up for the real fight.
