
I wish I was writing to say we had won the fight for testing but sadly those on the frontline are still working tireless without testing.
Many care homes were tested once as part of the Whole Home Testing but since cannot get any new tests. Those living and working in supported living schemes and in their own homes in the community are still unable to get tests.
To add insult to injury, Conservative MPs yesterday voted down a motion that called for health and social care staff to be routinely tested for COVID-19 regardless of symptoms. The motion was voted down by 331 Conservative MPs
Whilst many people in the UK start to go back to ‘normal’ those living and working in care homes are still very much in isolation, many workers worried about catching and spreading the virus.
We need to continue to raise awareness and our front line social care staff deserve regular testing
