Petition updateTesla – Bring Back the Double-Click Autopilot Activation!

Update: The Situation Has Actually Gotten Worse – We Still Need Your Support

First of all, I would like to sincerely thank everyone who has supported this petition so far. Every single signature helps make this issue more visible, and I truly appreciate everyone who has taken the time to support and share it.

Unfortunately, there is still no official update from Tesla regarding this issue. Even with the latest software updates, the ability to quickly switch between Traffic-Aware Cruise Control (TACC) and Autosteer while driving has not been restored.

Some owners have found a workaround by creating two separate driver profiles – one configured for TACC and one for Autosteer – and switching between those profiles while driving. While this technically works, I don't believe this can be considered a real solution to a feature that previously required nothing more than a simple double-click.

What disappoints me even more is that the situation has actually become worse.

Previously, although it was never possible to switch from TACC to Autosteer while driving, it was at least possible to switch from Autosteer back to TACC. Today, even that is no longer possible. Instead of improving the user experience, the system has become even more restrictive and less intuitive.

This brings me to another message directly for Tesla:

This petition is not against FSD (Supervised) or technological progress. In fact, like many others, I am looking forward to the day when FSD becomes available across Europe.

However, this issue is completely independent of FSD.

It affects everyone:

who cannot use FSD,
who do not want to purchase or subscribe to FSD,
or who simply enjoy driving themselves while using Traffic-Aware Cruise Control.
For all of these drivers, the previous behavior was simpler, more intuitive, and in our opinion, safer.

Today, I have one more request for everyone supporting this petition:

Please help us spread the word.

Share this petition on Facebook, X, Reddit, Tesla forums, WhatsApp groups, or anywhere Tesla owners are active.

The more signatures we collect, the louder our voice becomes. The larger this community grows, the harder it becomes for Tesla to ignore that thousands of customers are asking for the return of a feature that worked perfectly for years.

We still don't understand why such a useful and well-established feature was removed in the first place. From the outside, it appears to be something that could be restored through a software update.

Thank you once again for your incredible support. Let's continue working together to make our voices heard.
