Lets keep the pressure on Tesco

You might be wondering why this page has remained silent since we crossed the 1000 signatures mark? The answer to this was that we were waiting for Tesco to come out with a kind, respectable, and agreeable decision on how to manage its car park in a responsible way. Unfortunately as of now I have been informed by Cllr David Jenkins, that Tesco or its property managers ;Savills has yet to come out with such a gesture.  There have been numerous people penalised in varied circumstances,  often on fictitious charges, of abusing the parking facilities. The way in which UKPC has sent threatening letters to people asking to pay up the charges invites only disgrace. Some have been charged while dropping off their partner at Tesco's and picking them up later. Some after contesting the charges, have received a letter apparently informing them that UKPC hasn't received any such request and hence they must now pay the full charge of £100. The onus of proving one's innocence has been thrust on the victims. The sad part is that Tesco, through Savills has  contracted UKPC, to unleash a terrorising ordeal on the patrons of the Green Shopping Centre. The Leeds City Council, has reacted to this ,rather late, and decided to meet the managers of the Centre, Savills. They are going to take up the matter citing the 1000+ unhappy people who have supported this petition. We still need to spread this message, and keep the pressure on Tesco, to make its Car Parking available to all, and manage it in a kind, just and honourable way. Thats the 'little help' we like to have from you Tesco. To all those of you who have suffered, we assure you that we stand by you as always.
