I want to say a huge thank you for the incredible 700 letters that have been sent to Tesco. Many of these letters were requesting a meeting between me and Tesco to discuss the eggs they sell and the petition at its current stage. Since launching the letter writing campaign, Tesco have been in touch and we have organised a meeting at the Tesco headquarters next week! This is an amazing opportunity for me to present the issue directly to Tesco and find out what their plans are in terms of the eggs they will sell in the future. The meeting is a chance to show Tesco the reality of the situation and how they can change and make a difference to so many laying hens lives. Earlier this week, the US's biggest supermarket chain Walmart announced plans to phase out eggs from caged hens. Let's hope Tesco will be the next to make the change.
