This petition is deeply personal to me. I am raising my voice against the abuse of power and elderly mistreatment by Oilton Police Officer Joe Beers. He assaulted a veteran on private property, which is not just an infringement of personal rights, but also a blatant disregard for the service this individual has provided to our nation.

This incident is not isolated; it's part of a larger pattern that reflects poorly on the reputation of our law enforcement officers who are supposed to protect us. According to data from Human Rights Watch, police misconduct in America continues unabated with over 1000 fatal shootings by police reported in 2020 alone.

Oilton deserves better than this. We deserve law enforcement officers who respect all citizens' rights and treat everyone with dignity, regardless of their age or status as veterans. The termination of Officer Joe Beers would be one step towards ensuring accountability within our local law enforcement.
