On September 22nd, 2021, Officers of the Cleveland, Tennessee Police Dept. and the Bradley County, Tennessee Sheriffs Dept. responded to a crime in progress. Officers and Joker (K9 Officer) gave pursuit to multiple armed suspects. Joker intercepted one of these suspects who fired on the K9 striking him in the head. Jokers is now fighting for his life. His assailant now faces theft of property charges after attempting to murder this Police Partner.

Jokers Law will make it a Class B felony to assault any law enforcement animal partner, including all K-9 types as well as horses and livestock used in the protection of our citizens. Those that protect us all.
