Create an original game based off of League of Legends coinciding with Telltale and Riot Games.
The Issue
Telltale Games has recently been known to make very well received games based off of the biggest hits. I myself first heard of them through their game The Walking Dead (Season 1) which debuted back in April of 2012. Since then, they received over 90 GOTY awards as well as the GOTY title. It later progressed into getting a DLC adaptation, as well as a second season to come out in December of 2013, and a third season already confirmed but not coming until 2016.
The team was full of fans of The Walking Dead TV show, and Telltale Games is a company that likes to make their games based off of things that they are fans of. The partnership with Telltale to make The Walking Dead was with Skybound, the distributor of the comic book series. They also have gotten big hits in recent times, such as The Wolf Among Us, Tales From The Borderlands, and Game of Thrones, all of which were their own stories turned into a Telltale Game. Telltale Games makes all their creations based entirely off story. They are very story driven games that focus more on delivering a very compelling story to tell within the usual 5 episode season. (Telltale creates the entirety of the game in multiple episodes. Usually ending in a gut wrenching choice to make at the end of each.)
League of Legends has 27 MILLION players sign into it each day. In total, this equals around 67 million people playing the game a single month. With demographics like these, to see two very popular, much loved companies team up to create an original creation, it could end up being a huge success for both sides. Riot Games themselves had a survey, and within it they asked if players would love to see more League of Legends content outside of the game. While the final data for who answered what is classified, it's very safe to assume that the majority of them said 'Yes' to wanting more, original content. League of Legends has over 100 unique characters, or champions, each with their own back stories. Within those back stories, there are links between some champions in the game, such as Jinx and Vi, Nasus and Renekton, or Lucian and Thresh, resulting in them already knowing of each other. Not only do some champions already know each other, but a lot also come from areas in the League universe that are already created, such as Piltover, Noxus, and Demacia (photo example above this article). I don't know much about the Telltale process, or how strenuous making a game like they do can be, but with information on settings, characters, and back story, I can see a project like this catering to a huge majority of the League of Legends fanbase.
Overall, due to League of Legends' giant fanbase, I'm very convinced that if this was to be produced, it would be one of, if not, the biggest Telltale Games successes that they ever create. I hope you guys sign this and help this petition get noticed by both Telltale Games and Riot Games. Make sure to share this petition everywhere you can and use the hashtag #TelltaleXRiot to try and get this trending! I know with the amount dedicated fans of both TTG and Riot, we can get this noticed. Thank you for reading.
