The past two months have produced no reports of coyote activity beyond sightings, and based on those sightings, only three coyotes remain. Mass Wildlife's definition of problem animals are those that "have or are endangering the life or health of humans or domestic animals."
In a December 12, 2022 email to his Mass Wildlife boss, Michael Huguenin, infamous employee David Wattles asserts,
"[The lethal protocol] WILL BE RESERVED for those situations WHERE COYOTE BEHAVIOR DICTATES the animals be removed. The circumstances where we anticipate issuing the permit is WHEN A PERSON IS BITTEN by a coyote in a suburban or urban situation" (emphasis added).
No human in Nahant has been bitten or otherwise injured by a coyote.
Let's put a stop to this. Email and/or call Mass Wildlife and ask them to produce evidence of any danger that would justify their ongoing operations in Nahant:
