The Footbridge Skate + Arts Park Project recently discovered that a large part of the former skate park site (and what we all consider Footbridge Park) is a parcel (Block 1402 Lot 49) owned by the State of New Jersey and controlled by the NJ Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP). 

We submitted documentation to NJDEP in May of 2023 regarding permission to use the site. We received a rejection letter back on October 24, 2023 that cited incorrect information and issues that are not relevant to this particular site.

We are thankful to have the support of our local elected officials as we pursue this project, including the Blairstown Township Committee, as well as the advocacy of Senator Steve Oroho and his Deputy Chief of Staff, Brett Conrads.

Please tell the NJDEP you want them to engage in a thoughtful conversation with the Blairstown Township Committee regarding ways to make this happen!
