Petition updateTell the FCC to Deny SpaceX’s 1MILLION Satellite "Orbital Data Center" ApplicationUpdate #2: The "Orbital Data Center" Waiver is Getting Shadier

I have been digging deeper into the documents, and learning more from experts in this field; the scope of the problems with this "Orbital Data Center" request just keeps growing. Here is why we should all be concerned:
- Fake Novelty: SpaceX claims this tech is "unique and new," yet a competitor (Starcloud) launched months before Elon even filed this request.
- The "Forever" Zone: SpaceX is using safety data from low orbits (550 km) to justify going up to 2,000 km. The physics change at that altitude; in the low zone, gravity and air help clean up trash. At 2,000 km, there is no air to help. A broken satellite becomes a permanent bullet.
- Efficiency Gap: Elon says he needs 1 million satellites for this. Competitors say they can do the same job with only 88,000. Why the massive "space grab"?
- Sneak Attack: This request was filed just hours before a partial government shutdown. It looks like an attempt to bypass a full review while the lights were going out. I myself was unable to electronically file the protest and had to mail in notarized documents. Fortunately, I was eventually able to e-file. Those physically mailed documents (as of today, March 4th) still have not been scanned and added to the e-filing, even though it has now been several weeks.
- Dodging Ghosts: In 2025, only 9,000 Starlink satellites had to move 300,000 times to avoid collisions. Scaling that to 1 million satellites is mathematically impossible. The system would spend all its fuel dodging and zero time working.
- Light Pollution: Despite the massive scale, SpaceX completely ignores how 1 million new objects will ruin the view of the night sky for everyone on earth, including astronomers.
I am uncovering more issues every day. Please share this update; we need more eyes on this petition before the March 6th deadline.
