EDIT: I have updated the petition to address the Spokane County Sheriff because he invited Dave Grossman to come to our city. However, if our taxes are paying for this workshop then we have a say in the matter. 

Retired Lt. Colonel Dave Grossman is a police trainer who uses fear of “gangbangers” and “terrorists” to educate his pupils on escalation and the “righteous killing” of civilians in his seminars called,”Killology”. “We fight violence. What do we fight it with? Superior violence. Righteous violence.”  The last thing Spokane needs is a seminar on how to escalate a situation that could end in deadly force. Why would Spokane pay a former soldier to come into our mostly peaceful city to teach our officers how to “righteously” kill? Why is Spokane okay with militarizing our police officers? These officers are paid with OUR tax dollars. And that money is needed to train these men and women on de-escalating situations as opposed to escalating. Have we not seen how that is playing out across our country? Is Spokane okay with being the next city to explain the deadly choices of its public servants? No. We. Are. Not.
