WCW VICTORY: Trump Cancels $1M USDA-China Max Pain Bird Flu Gain-of-Function Experiments
- Following a year-long White Coat Waste (WCW) campaign, Trump Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins has confirmed the USDA is ending its collaboration with Wuhan-linked experimenters on dangerous maximum pain bird flu gain-of-function tests.
- WCW’s investigation exposed how in 2021 the USDA launched a five-year $1 million collaboration with the Wuhan lab’s parent organization to soup up bird flu viruses and see if they could jump to mammals.
- Records secured by WCW via the Freedom of Information Act showed that animals as young as one day old would be infected with bird flu and allowed to suffer in painful and “severe” experiments without any pain relief.
- This victory follows recent WCW wins against wasteful animal experiments in Chinese labs funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
