SNEAK PREVIEW: Pat Nixon at Friendship Park

Dear Friends of Friendship Park: Exciting news!  We have obtained live film footage from First Lady Pat Nixon's historic 1971 inauguration of Friendship Park, the historic meeting place on the US-Mexico border between San Diego and Tijuana.  Emily Packer has edited the footage down into a compelling 7-minute short documentary, entitled TOO LONG HERE, because on that day Pat Nixon said, "I hope there won't be a fence too long here."

This Sunday, February 9, we will be offering a SNEAK PREVIEW of the film at Bread & Salt,the cultural center in Barrio Logan (1955 Julian Avenue, San Diego CA 92113). Doors open at 4:30 and the program begins at 5 pm.Beginning at 6 pm, the party will continue with food and drink and more film and art (the renowned transnational artist Panca is showing in the Gallery at Bread & Salt).
