"Tell SC Law Makers to Pass No Texting While Driving Law"

The Issue

Every year hundreds of people are either killed or seriously injured on South Carolina Roadways due to drivers texting while driving. Recently a four year old girl lost her life when a tractor trailer near Myrtle Beach slammed into the family's SUV because the driver was distracted while talking on his cell phone.

Another South Carolina resident in Spartanburg, Mr. Juhnny Higgins, pictured above had both of his legs crushed when a driver while texting ran into him as he was trying to push a car out of the roadway. The driver was only charged $81. A second Spartanburg resident, Ms. Patricia Petty lost her leg as a result of this same incident.

South Carolina is only one of two states left in the country who has failed to pass some sort of "No Texting While Driving Law", even though texting while driving or talking on cell phones now kills more people than drunk drivers in the state.

It's time for the South Carolina State Legislature to do the right thing and pass a "No Texting While Driving Law" for the safety of all citizens. This law will save countless lives.

Will you please take just a few seconds and sign this petition?

Thank you so much for your compassion.
