Hanging on by a thread

As long as North Carolina has a Democratic governor whose veto cannot be overridden, abortion remains legal in our state. And since several states surrounding us have trigger laws that will immediately go into effect if the Supreme Court officially overturns Roe v Wade, it is more important than ever to maintain the legality of abortion in our state.

On May 2, Gov. Cooper tweeted, “Now more than ever, governors and state legislatures must stand up for women’s healthcare. We know the stakes and must stand firm to protect a woman’s choice and access to medical care. - RC”

We must make sure both Gov Cooper and our representatives and senators who represent Davidson County know, unmistakably, that the commissioners of our county did NOT represent their constituents when they supported the Heartbeat bill.
