Lots of families are attending school-based meetings this week through early October to learn more about specifics in the plan. Anecdotally, it sounds like many people are still sorting out the details and critically thinking about their response—as they should. Please help make sure your neighbors and families in the district know this document exists if and when they’d like to add their names. 

I’m seeing our petition dismissed by some on social media, claiming that the equity problems are too impossible to fix, that it’s okay to omit discussion about special ed because that’s too unique, that our concerns are better suited to small discussion than part of the broad public discourse, that some concerns are related to state law and therefore IPS can’t be held accountable,…but I’ve yet to hear answers to the questions or facts that disprove our points.
