The Issue

No one should be ripped from their family during the holidays — especially not over a paperwork issue.

Now the public is demanding something simple: a pause.

We’re calling on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to suspend non-emergency immigration enforcement actions — including home raids, workplace arrests, and routine check-ins that lead to detention — from December 23 through December 26.

These are not hardened criminals being arrested. Many are parents, caregivers, asylum seekers, or longtime residents with deep roots in their communities. Ripping them away during the most family-centered days of the year is cruel, unnecessary, and inconsistent with the values this country claims to uphold.

This brief pause would not be without precedent. During past administrations, ICE has limited enforcement during certain holidays or natural disasters, recognizing that compassion should guide public policy.

Families deserve peace during the holidays — not fear. And federal agents deserve guidance from their leadership that reflects the basic human dignity of all people, regardless of immigration status.

Add your name to tell DHS and ICE: No holiday raids. No Christmas arrests. Pause enforcement and let families stay together.
