The first part of our campaign to get ICE Out of Home Depot was a solid success! On President’s Day, nearly 50 of us gathered at The Home Depot in Pittsfield, MA to peacefully protest the company’s complicity with ICE raids occurring at its stores. We bought ICE scrapers and de-icing spray while walking through the store with our signs, singing and chanting. Then management kicked us out, threatening to call the police if we didn’t leave. So we did. 

But we achieved our objective: prominent media coverage to raise public awareness about how The Home Depot is staying silent as federal immigration agents indiscriminately, violently and deceptively detain their customers and employees, regardless of immigration status or criminal history, in violation of their constitutional rights. 

Our protest was the lead story in The Berkshire Eagle. We were also featured in The Berkshire Edge.

Now I need your help to make the second part of our campaign an equal success: by getting 1,000 names on the petition letter we’re sending to Home Depot president and CEO Ted Decker. Please share our petition to your friends and family!
