Gosfield held it AGM yesterday (March 28).  There was good news on the Fibre front. It was announced in early March that the following areas within the town will have fibre in 2023

I was additionally announced that Fox, Elwood, Stockwell, Hill, Klundert and Delmar are also getting Fibre.  I may be missing a road or two but these were not originally announced.  This means that Gosfield intends to have MOST of the town proper serviced with Fibre in 2023.    This still leave County Road 34 W and E without Gosfield Fibre in 2023 as well as Belle River Road from 34 down toward Woodslee.

This is great news for many but it will still leave 40% of homes in the 839 exchange without fibre. The plan is to do the remaining homes in 2024 and 2025.

At the AGM I specifically asked the board if they would release a comprehensive plan as they promised in September.  People need to know if they may be waiting until 2024 or 2025 as it may impact their decision as to whether they sign up with Cogeco.  

If residents had the option to Sign with Cogeco or Gosfield for the same product, I imagine that nearly 100% of people would chose to stay with Gosfield.  I will keep pushing to have Gosfield release a comprehensive plan so everyone affected can make their own plans.  Regardless, it sounds like everyone in the town of Cottam should have the option for Fibre by the end of 2023 either with Gosfield, Cogeco or both.
