Friends, it’s been a long time since we’ve posted an update here, but the fight against the Mountain Valley Pipeline is still alive and strong. You probably know that the MVP was, unfortunately forced through a dirty deal in Congress. But it’s not too late to fight back. Right now, front line communities are urging federal agencies to deal with the situation of old MVP pipes that have been sitting in the open sun for 4-6 years. This has degraded their safety coatingsto a dangerous condition. PHMSA, an agency of the US Department of Transportation, recently released a proposed safety order in response to their own inspections of MVP’s pipes and safety practices. MVP has 30 days to respond to the order, but they are continuing construction with dangerous pipes during that time.

That’s why we’re calling on FERC to require MVP to comply with the Safety Order now and issue a Stop Work Order immediately.
