I SO appreciate all of the support we got.  Sadly, the building was taken down today.  I spoke with a construction crew member, who didn't know the story of the building - now he does. 

My daughter and I stayed as long as we were able, to watch, bear witness, and say a silent goodbye in what felt like a really solemn moment.  I'm going to turn off the petition in the next few days, but will leave it open for a bit if anyone has any memories they want to share.
