The city council will meet on Monday, July 18 at 7:00 p.m. to vote on the 7-story complex. Please attend.

ACT NOW: How can you help?

1. Email the city council and encourage others to do so as well.
2. Call the city council members

What should you say?

If you want to keep it short, state that you don't think they should approve a 7-story variance. You can also include why you don't agree, what impact this will have on you, or use one of the ideas listed below. Ideas to consider including:

• Ask what the benefit is for Wheaton that supports a variance of 7 stories vs. 4 stories (or even 5 or 6).
• Overriding the current zoning (4 stories) will set a precedent for other oversized buildings to keep coming into the downtown area. How many of these size buildings can we sustain for the long term?
• Apartment vs condominiums and pride of ownership, investment in community
• This location has a school and more traffic due to being right downtown.
• Environmental issues, loss of 31 trees, water drainage into soil covered over, little attempt to replace green space
