On Friday, September 1st, partners including the Coastal Conservation League represented by Ross Appel, The Gullah/Geechee Sea Island Coalition represented by SCELP, the Penn Center represented by Jack Smith, and landowners represented by Will Cook were all granted intervention to help support Beaufort County’s denial of 3,6-hole golf courses on the 500-acre Pine Island property on St. Helena Island!

The court's decision allows the partners to participate as full parties in the case and is not limited to mediation. This is great news in the battle to protect St. Helena Island from incompatible development that has been prohibited since 1999 by the Cultural Protection Overlay (CPO) zoning.
