With support from wealthy investors, Pine Island Property Holdings, LLC officially purchased the Pine Island/St. Helenaville property for $18 million dollars on March 1st, 2023.
Last week we learned that the St. Helenaville piece of the property has been subdivided into four sections.
We anticipate the developer will try to work around the Cultural Protection Overlay's restriction on golf courses by creating three separate, 6-hole golf courses. We knew this was a possibility and we will continue the fight to protect St. Helena from this incompatible gated golf course/resort development.
The developer, as well as a Penn Trustee, spoke during public comment at last night's Beaufort County Council meeting. You can watch the video here.
