Thank you to those who attended Thursday's Planning Commission meeting and spoke out against changes to St. Helena Island's Cultural Protection Overlay (CPO). These changes allow for the development of a high end golf resort at historic Pine Island & St. Helenaville.

Fortunately, the planning commission voted unanimously to deny the changes. You can read more about the meeting in the Island Packet. We are pleased with the outcome; however, this issue is now in the hands of Beaufort County's elected officials, so it is imperative that we stay engaged and keep up the positive momentum.
