Telework to save California $225 million during gasoline price crisis

Telework to save California $225 million during gasoline price crisis
The Issue
The world's oil supply is burning. Shipping routes are closed. Gas prices are climbing and there's no end in sight.
Government workers of California proved they can effectively telework. They did so in 2020 with no warning and no preparation. Now they have a tested, stable I.T. environment to do so again. Shouldn't we send them home once more as fuel prices rise and families struggle to make ends meet?
Additionally, the state should be conserving oil for emergency services, food transport, and critical infrastructure. Proactive decisions are better than reactive ones as national and global instability carries us to destinations unknown.
Governor Gavin Newsom: Order your State employees to return to 100% telework. It's one concrete action you can take right now to ease the collective burden, and a signal to the rest of the country about what forward-thinking governance looks like.
