During the Errum Manzil case the Hyderabad Heritage Trust and Mr OM Debara successfully filed a petition in the Telangana High Court seeking to declare as illegal go ms 183 that had removed regulation 13 of go ms 542. Regulation 13 gave protection to 137 heritage buildings of which Errum Manzil and Osmania General Hospital were part.

The Osmania General Hospital and the Telangana High Court flanking the Musi are an iconic part of Hyderabad's rich legacy. As a society evolves socially and culturally it's built heritage remains a previous marker of such transitions and serve as a powerful reminder and first hand experience of the richness of Hyderabad's society.

Like our forests our built heritage is not to be at loggerheads with human needs. Both can co exist and serve to only enrich the sense of identity and continuity a city's cultural legacy imparts.
